Non bailable arrest warrant issued against rapist Lenin and co-conspirator Arathi Rao

In a significant development related to actress Ranjitha who was alleged to be in a video with Swami Nithyananda in 2010, the Additional Civil Judge Ramanagara today issued non-bailable warrant against Lenin Karuppan and Arathi Rao, the main accused in a serious case of sexual assault, criminal intimidation, extortion among other offences.


Prior to this, the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka had dismissed the quash applications filed by the accused Lenin Karuppan and Arathi Rao. The Sessions Court had also rejected the discharge applications filed by Lenin Karuppan and Arathi Rao.


As a part of a major conspiracy against Swami Nithyananda, Lenin Karuppan and Arathi Rao abetted by their accomplices had fabricated a sensational video showing Swami Nithyananda with actress Ranjitha and in the wake of the media frenzy thus generated had filed the false case against Swami Nithyananda in 2010.


Lenin Karuppan and Arathi Rao are also currently facing prosecution for the blackmail, extortion and criminal conspiracy by them against Swami Nithyananda and Ranjitha in the trial Court in Chennai.
