1. MATSYAASANA

TECHNIQUE

  1. Place the right foot on the left thigh
  2. Now place the left foot on the right thigh
  3. Now lie down on your back
  4. Cling on to your head with your elbows
  5. Stay in this position 30 seconds

TECHNIQUE

  1. Close the eyes
  2. Protrude your tongue as much as possible
  3. Roll the sides of the tongue like a tube
  4. Now inhale through the tube formed by the tongue
  5. After inhaling, close your mouth
  6. For a moment hold the breath (do not hold for a long time)
  7. Exhale through both the nostrils
  8. Do this for 21 minutes
  9. Relax

HATHA PRADEEPIKAA, UPADESHA 4, VERSE 43 (More)

TECHNIQUE

  1. Continue to sit in the same posture and close your eyes
  2. Press the lower teeth with the upper teeth and open the lips comfortably
  3. Suck air through the gaps in between the teeth .
  4. Be aware of the sound produced
  5. After inhaling close the mouth and exhale through the nose
  6. Do this 21 times

4. BHASTRIKA KUMBHAKA

KUMBHAKA PADDHATI, VERSES 164 & 165 (More)

TECHNIQUE

  1. Rapidly inhale and exhale like the bellows of the black smith until you become fatigued
  2. Then inhale through the right nostril
  3. Press the chin on the chest so that the throat is locked
  4. Hold the breath as long as you can judiciously
  5. Relax the chin and exhale through left nostril
  6. Do this 21 times
